Most of us use email everyday for personal and/or for business-related communications and it’s imperative for us to be able to handle our messages in an efficient manner. There are two ways most people send and receive their email:

Both have their own pros and cons, but one of the most widely used email applications for the desktop is Outlook Express. Outlook Express is a product of Microsoft and is usually bundled with most versions of the Windows operating system.
Outlook Express can send and receive standard email, HTML formatted emails, document attachments, address books, grouping, multiple signature files and a ton of other options.
But to send and receive email via Outlook Express, it is necessary to set up and configure your POP and SMTP mail settings. Following steps are essential for configuring e mail in Outlook Express:
1. Start Outlook Express and follow the setup dialog screen. If it does not pop up, go to “Tools” and click on “Accounts”. Now Click on “Mail” and select “Add”. This will start off a guided interface wizard to configure your account. Please read carefully and type in the information.
2. The POP and SMTP servers are specified by your email provider. Make sure you get the information for these settings and enter it in properly. Once you click the finish button, the wizard closes. Click on send/receive tab on the top to receive your messages.
3. Lastly turn on updates for Outlook Express as this will help you keep updated.
